Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Attashnif upholds academic integrity and ethical publishing practices. All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by other journals. Any form of plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

Types of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

Direct Plagiarism
Copying text, data, images, or ideas verbatim without proper citation.

Mosaic or Patchwork Plagiarism
Combining copied materials from multiple sources without adequate attribution.

Self-Plagiarism
Reusing substantial parts of previously published works without proper citation or disclosure.

Redundant or Duplicate Publication
Submitting or publishing the same manuscript or substantially similar content in more than one journal.

Improper Paraphrasing
Rewriting content that remains substantially similar to the original source without proper citation.

Similarity Screening Policy

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin or equivalent).

Maximum acceptable similarity index: 30%

Excluded from similarity calculation: references, quotations, bibliography, and commonly used technical phrases.

Manuscripts exceeding the similarity threshold will not proceed to the peer review stage.

Editorial Handling of Plagiarism

The editorial board applies the following actions based on the similarity assessment:

Minor Similarity

(Technical citation errors or limited overlap below the acceptable threshold)

Manuscript returned to authors for revision and correction.

Moderate Similarity

(Significant overlap but still potentially correctable)

Manuscript placed on hold until major revision is completed.

Major Similarity

(High similarity index, clear plagiarism, or duplicated publication)

Immediate rejection of the manuscript.

Post-Publication Misconduct

If plagiarism is detected after publication:

The article will be retracted.

A formal retraction notice will be published.

The author’s institution may be notified if necessary.

Author Responsibilities

Authors must ensure that:

The submitted manuscript is original and properly cited.

All data, figures, and tables are either original or used with permission.

Proper acknowledgment is given to all sources.

A similarity report can be provided upon editorial request.

All plagiarism cases are handled transparently, fairly, and consistently to protect the credibility of the journal and the academic community.
